On July 14 each year, Al Ain Zoo celebrates its contribution to global mammal conservation and the importance of wildlife conservation and public sexuality awareness.
Currently, this zoo is home to one male chimpanzee and three female chimpanzees that live deep in tropical Africa. In their natural habitat, these amazing creatures face numerous threats, including habitat loss, poaching and urban sprawl.
Al Ain Zoo prides itself on providing the highest standards of care for our chimpanzees. This includes regular vaccinations and regular health examinations, as well as veterinary care, nutritional programs and behavioral rehabilitation.
Zoos provide stimulating habitats designed to promote the well-being of these intelligent primates. These habitats include a variety of foods, wooden structures, swings, ropes, elevated surfaces, and natural materials that chimpanzees use to create shelter and stay active and healthy. In addition, the zoo has implemented an expanded feeding program for the chimpanzees. This may include providing fruit as ice cream or juice, or adding sunflower seeds or peanuts throughout the habitat to stimulate chimpanzees’ natural behavior and promote chimpanzee physical activity and mental engagement.
Al Ain Zoo draws attention to the urgent need to protect chimpanzees from extinction and educates people about the importance of protecting endangered species and preserving the Earth’s natural biodiversity for the benefit of all residents and students. As for entertainment, Al Ain Zoo offers
visitors the opportunity to observe the chimpanzees during feeding time and observe the chimpanzees in their daily activities in an environment very similar to their natural habitat. A highlight for visitors is the “Story of the Chimpanzee Keepers”. There, zookeepers provide fascinating insights into this amazing creature, deepening visitors’ appreciation for the world’s most popular primate.
