Al Ain Zoo celebrates World Veterinary Day, which this year falls on 27 April and is themed “Veterinarians are essential health workers”. The Zoo has witnessed remarkable achievements in the field of veterinary and animal care over the years, in which it relies on the application of the very best international standards.

The veterinary team consists of doctors, assistants, and veterinary technicians with a full range of specialized certificates in the field of veterinary care, who continuously upgrade their knowledge and experience by taking part in training courses that developed their skills in providing care for animals of various categories and species to ensure the safety and health of all animals. During the last 4 years, 19 students from various universities were able to enroll in practical training in the Zoo.
The Zoo recently released its latest statistics, announcing that the total number of laboratory tests conducted amounted to 2,455 and vaccinations reached 448 doses. and that the total number of animals under its care reached 4,067 of 215 different species.
On World Veterinary Day, we salute the amazing efforts of the staff of the Life Sciences Department at Al Ain Zoo who ensure the continuity of work in the field of animal care, nature conservation and providing the necessary veterinary care.
