
Bharti Airtel will offer special offers on Apple TV+ and Apple Music to Indian subscribers, the company announced on Tuesday. The company has partnered with Apple to bundle the two apps’ services with some of the company’s prepaid and postpaid plans. This offer is available for Airtel mobile and WiFi subscribers. In recent weeks, the company has been expanding its 5G coverage in India, culminating in the launch of 5G booster packs and re-securing mid-band spectrum on existing bands in July.
Partnership between Airtel and Apple
Airtel Wi-Fi service subscribers While some Airtel Xtreme plans offer subscription to OTT apps like Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV, Disney+ Hotstar and even Netflix, Apple TV+ is not included in the plans. However, it has been confirmed that Apple’s streaming service will be bundled with Airtel’s premium Wi-Fi and postpaid plans.
Announcing the partnership, Oliver Schusser, Vice President of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Sports and Beats, said:
Mobile users can also take advantage of a subscription to Apple Music, the Cupertino-based tech giant’s audio streaming service. The voice platform’s exclusive offering is said to be bundled with Airtel’s own Wynk Premium subscription. It gives users access to Apple Music features such as a large music library, offline song availability, lossless audio playback, and synced lyrics.
Notably, Apple TV+ subscription prices in India start at Rs 10,000. Apple Music, on the other hand, costs Rs. 99 per month. 59 rupees per month for the student plan. The personal plan costs Rs 99 per month. 149 for family planning. However, Airtel says both Apple services will only be available to Airtel customers in India later this year.
