Ahmedabad, July 5: Adani Group announced on Sunday that it will invest ₹2,500 crore over the next three years to establish an integrated missile manufacturing ecosystem in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. This plant is set to become the largest private missile ecosystem in South Asia, encompassing the entire value chain of missile manufacturing from raw materials to missile systems.
During the foundation-laying ceremony, Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, stated that this project marks a historic milestone for India’s private defense manufacturing sector and will significantly enhance the country’s self-reliance in strategic defense capabilities.
“We have gathered here for an important occasion where the foundation of South Asia’s largest private-sector missile ecosystem is being laid. This factory will bring together raw materials and mission-ready missiles under one roof, which will be a first outside the public sector,” he said.
According to Jeet Adani, the Shivpuri complex will manufacture medium to long-range missile systems. Facilities for composite propellant production and TNT and explosive-grade material manufacturing will also be established, reducing India’s dependence on defense imports.
He mentioned that the project will create direct and indirect employment for approximately 5,000 people and will support the growth of over 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through a specialized defense supply chain.
Highlighting the company’s significant investment in Madhya Pradesh, Jeet Adani noted that this defense project is part of the Adani Group’s commitment to invest ₹1.10 lakh crore during the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal. These investments will include hydro pumped storage, cement, mining, smart meters, and thermal energy, with an expectation of generating 1.2 lakh jobs in the state by 2030.
He further added that the group has already invested over ₹4,000 crore in its Ametha and Kaimor plants in Katni district. Adani Power is currently supplying 1,200 megawatts of electricity to Madhya Pradesh and is working on supplying an additional 5,600 megawatts. The company has also initiated wind energy projects in Lahori, Dhar, Ratlam, and Ujjain, while preparations are underway for a cement plant in Ujjain.
Jeet Adani also revealed that the group recently laid the foundation for a ₹1,060 crore cement unit in Guna, which he described as the largest investment in the district’s history.
