Mohali, February 14: Popular Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana has received death threats along with an extortion demand of ₹10 crores from gangster Zeeshan Akhtar. According to police sources, the threats were communicated to the actress via phone and email. The police have initiated an investigation and have increased security for her.
Mohali’s SP (D) Saurabh Jindal confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at the Sohna police station, naming gangster Zeeshan Akhtar as the accused. The threat was reportedly sent through email.
The actress reported to the police, “I work in the music industry. On February 12, around 11:45 PM, I received an email containing an audio message in which the sender threatened to kill me and demanded ₹10 crores. Then, on February 13, at around 6:18 PM, I received another threatening email reiterating the death threat and extortion demand. Later that night, around 11:34 PM, I received a missed call, message, and audio note on my phone from the same individual.”
Himanshi stated that she does not know anyone by the name of Zeeshan Akhtar and added, “Currently, I do not feel the need for security. If I need to go out for any work, I will inform you.”
A case has been registered against Zeeshan Akhtar at the Sohna police station. After preparing the FIR and a special report, police constable Gagandeep Singh has forwarded the number for surveillance.
Himanshi Khurana won the Miss Ludhiana title at the age of 16 and made her acting debut in the 2010 Punjabi film ‘Sadda Haq’. She has appeared in several films, including ‘Leather Life’ and ‘Officer’, as well as various music videos.
