Mumbai, August 18: Actress Antara Banerjee has expressed her outrage after her photograph was reportedly used by several media outlets in connection with an FIR that actually involved another model, Antara Soham Banerjee from Thane. In an exclusive conversation, Banerjee shared her shock over the incident.
“I have been in shock since I found out. I had no idea why this happened. I learned about it yesterday during the day. I received numerous calls and messages from family and friends asking if I was okay. I had no clue. When I opened one message, it contained my photo along with all the details, and that’s when I realized it was all over the internet,” she stated.
Banerjee described the experience as mentally distressing and unfortunate. “What could I do at that moment? I was in shock, and I still am. It’s a very troubling incident,” she added.
She emphasized that the situation is concerning, especially for parents. “My mother, who is not in good health, panicked and asked, ‘What is happening? Where is this news coming from?’ She had no idea,” Banerjee said.
Her father, who lives in Kolkata, suggested coming over to understand the situation better. However, Banerjee and her team decided it was unnecessary for him to travel at that moment. “We are figuring out what we can do next,” she explained.
Banerjee is determined to take legal action to ensure that such misinformation is removed promptly to protect her image. “This is not about publicity. Please do not view it that way. Our next step will be legal because we have no other option left,” she asserted.
She appealed to all media personnel to verify and re-verify any information before using someone’s photo. “Taking such steps without verification is irresponsible,” she concluded.
