Jaipur, December 24: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has carried out significant action in the ongoing investigation into irregularities and financial misconduct related to the construction of the cricket stadium at Maharana Pratap Khelgaon, Chitrakoot Nagar, Udaipur. The ACB has arrested four individuals, including senior engineers and a contractor, in connection with the case.

Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, confirmed the arrests, citing evidence collected through the FIR verification report, findings from the technical committee, forensic reports from FSL Jaipur, and quality control tests conducted by the Public Works Department’s Udaipur laboratory.
Arrested Individuals
The arrested individuals include senior officials and a contractor associated with the project:
- Devesh Kumar Sharma – Then Assistant Engineer at the Udaipur Urban Improvement Trust, now Additional Chief Engineer at the Ajmer Development Authority.
- Vimal Kumar Mehta – Retired Junior Engineer from the Udaipur Urban Improvement Trust.
- Mukesh Jani – Retired Assistant Engineer from the Udaipur Urban Improvement Trust.
- Hemraj Vardar – Contractor and Director of Messrs Praman Construction Private Limited.
Legal Proceedings
The accused were presented before the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Udaipur. Following the hearing, the court ordered that all four individuals be sent to judicial custody.
