Mumbai, May 1: Actor Junaid Khan is making headlines with his film ‘Ek Din.’ In a conversation with Kapil Sharma, Aamir Khan expressed pride in his son, stating that Junaid has forged his own path in the industry without any assistance from him.
Aamir Khan’s production house shared a video on Instagram where Kapil Sharma asked, “Do you read Junaid’s film scripts?” Aamir replied, “No, I don’t read his scripts, and he doesn’t like me interfering in his career. He chose his own career and struggles. Initially, he went to Los Angeles to learn the nuances of theatre. After that, he returned to Mumbai, performed in theatre, and met casting directors for auditions. No one in the industry knew he was my son, as I hadn’t disclosed it to anyone.”
The actor recounted receiving a call from Aditya Chopra, who informed him that he was casting Junaid in his film. “Junaid didn’t tell me about this; I found out from outside. He signed the film on his own and won everyone’s hearts with his performance. As a father, I am proud that he has made his mark without my help,” Aamir said.
During the conversation, Aamir also highlighted Junaid’s simplicity, mentioning that he leads a modest life and avoids unnecessary expenses. “I even told Junaid to buy a car,” he added.
Expressing his love for his son, Aamir noted that despite Junaid now being 6 feet 2 inches tall, he still sees him as his little boy. “When he was younger, it was easy to hold him in my arms. Now he is much taller, but whenever I hug him, I feel the same comfort as when I held him close as a child.”
