Udaipur : Nine more patients have tested positive for swine flu in Udaipur city while a woman resident of Ambamata area in Udaipur, who was being treated in Ahmedabad died on Friday of the deadly disease. According to sources, six staff from a private school in the city in Savina area were among the nine persons tested positive of the deadly flu. The news has sent the medical department into a tizzy which arranged screening of all the students on friday to take precautionary measures.
Tami flu tablets are being given to suspect cases while more samples are being sent to laboratory for testing, sources informed. Since January, 42 swine flu cases have been reported in Udaipur. Meanwhile, authorities at the swine flu ward in the government MB hospital here are tight lipped and not giving out any details on the number of fresh cases being reported daily. On Friday, the staff at the hospital sent back an elderly woman who was a swine flu suspect. Her family members were advised to keep the old lady in an isolated room at home and continue the treatment.
The whole family has been given Tami flu as precautionary measure, sources said. An auxiliary nursing staff was sent to the area to take stock of the situation, however the rapid force of the medical department didn’t visit the area, locals complained.
