6 women killed, 8 injured in road mishap in Chittorgarh

Udaipur : Six women were killed and 8 injured as the van they were travelling in bumped into a stationed trailer near Saanwalia Choraha in Chittorgarh district on Friday morning. The victims were of Sompura community and residents of Sagwada in Dungarpur who had planned a trip to the famous KhatuSyham ji temple.

On their return journey, they also planned to visit the Saanwaliya Seth temple and had almost reached the Saanwaliya circle when the incident took place around 5 am, police said. According to the sources, the group consisted of 24 women and all of them were fast asleep when their vehicle hit the stationed trailer from the rear side. Panic struck the area as the news spread and the victims were rushed to Saanwalia hospital. Of the women injured, five of them are said to be serious.
