Chittorgarh, March 13 : As the festival of Holi approaches, celebrations have begun across the country. On Friday, devotees will celebrate Holi by playing with colors and gulal, while at the famous Krishna Dham Shri Saanwaliya Ji Temple, devotees will play Holi with Lord Krishna, following the Vrindavan tradition.
A day before this grand celebration, on Thursday, the treasury (Bhandar) of Saanwaliya Seth Temple was opened. In the first phase of counting, ₹7.55 crore was recorded as temple donations. The remaining donations will be counted in the coming days. The temple treasury is usually opened every fortnight on Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi, but due to festivals like Holi and Diwali, it is opened after one and a half months.
Temple Treasury Counting Process & Authorities Present
According to temple tradition, the Bhandar (treasury) is opened every month for donation counting. However, on special occasions like Holi and Diwali, the treasury remains closed for a longer duration, and donations are counted after one and a half months.
🔸 On Thursday morning at 11:15 AM, after the completion of Rajbhog Aarti, the treasury was opened, and the counting process began.

In addition to the temple board members, bank officials were also present to oversee the cash counting process.
By Thursday evening, ₹7.55 crore was counted, while the remaining amount will be counted after the Dhulandi festival.
Gold, Silver, and Other Offerings Yet to be Weighed
Apart from the cash donations, the counting of gold, silver, and offerings from the Bhent Kaksh (gift chamber) is yet to be completed. Gold and silver weighing will take place later, ensuring proper records of all donations.
The Saanwaliya Ji Phooldol Mahotsav is set to be celebrated on Friday, and a huge crowd of devotees is expected to take part in the grand festivities.
