However, societal biases and financial constraints often stand in the way of their weddings.
Breaking these barriers, Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, has been helping differently-abled and underprivileged individuals find their life partners and establish their own families for the past 20 years. This year, on February 8-9, 2025, the organization will host its 43rd Free Mass Wedding Ceremony, a grand event where 51 couples will take the sacred vows of marriage.
A Grand Celebration at Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Seva Mahatirth Campus
The mass wedding ceremony will take place at the Seva Mahatirth campus in Udaipur, where philanthropists, social activists, and dignitaries from across India have been invited with traditional yellow rice invitations.
During a press briefing, Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Public Relations Officer, Bhagwan Prasad Gaur, announced that this first mass wedding of 2025 will unite 51 couples, including 28 differently-abled and 23 underprivileged bride-groom pairs. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the event, including a large wedding dome, where all traditional marriage rituals will be conducted with the same grandeur as any regular wedding.
Rituals to Follow Traditional Hindu Wedding Customs
The event will include all customary wedding rituals, such as:

✅ Mehendi & Haldi Ceremony – Traditional pre-wedding celebrations for the brides.
✅ Women’s Sangeet – A vibrant evening of folk music and dance.
✅ Toran Ceremony – A ritual where the groom arrives at the venue, marking the official start of the wedding.
✅ Exchanging of Garlands (Varmaala) – A symbol of mutual acceptance.
✅ Sacred Fire Ceremony (Saptapadi) – Taking the seven vows before the sacred fire, as priests chant Vedic mantras.

- Sunil, who suffered from polio at the age of five, met Pooja at a bus station when she needed help crossing the road.
- What began as a simple act of kindness soon turned into a strong friendship, and eventually, Sunil proposed marriage, promising to be her guiding light.
- Pooja accepted, and with the support of their families, they are now ready to start their journey together.
❤️ Two Incomplete Souls, One Complete Love Story: Hem Kumari & Subhash
- Hem Kumari (from Sakti district, Chhattisgarh) and Subhash (from Ahmedabad, Gujarat) both rely on wheelchairs due to physical disabilities.
- Hem Kumari lost mobility in both legs at the age of three due to a severe reaction to an injection.
- Subhash, a talented wheelchair cricketer, was born with polio and has been determined to live life to the fullest.
- They met in Raipur during a cricket event, formed a deep bond, and realized that they could complete each other’s lives.
- Their families wholeheartedly supported their union, and now, they are ready to start their new life together at this mass wedding.
Sacred Rituals on 51 Wedding Altars
A total of 51 wedding altars (vedis) will be set up for the ceremony, where each couple will perform the seven sacred vows (saat phere) with the blessings of Vedic scholars and priests.
To ensure a seamless wedding experience, Narayan Seva Sansthan has appointed:
