Union Minister for Electronics, IT, Law & Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad launched “5000 CSC WiFiChoupal” an initiative towards developing rural Wi-Fi network infrastructure to provide affordable services that transform villages into smart villages.
“Delivery of Railway Tickets through CSCs” was also launched.
On the occasion, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced that all 2,90,000 CSCs will be connected with technology now for booking railway tickets.
The common service centers may now also book unreserved railway tickets. An agreement in this regard was also exchanged on this occasion.
The Finance Minister Goyal also announced that all the CSCs will be made banking correspondent, however, he urged them to be honest in their work.
