Islamabad, October 27 (Udaipur Kiran): At least 25 militants of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), including four suicide bombers, were killed in major counterterrorism operations by Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, while five soldiers lost their lives, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

According to the ISPR statement, the operations were carried out between October 24 and 25 in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area and Kurram district’s Gaki region, after security agencies detected two infiltration attempts from Afghanistan.
Two-Day Counterterrorism Operations
The ISPR confirmed that troops successfully repelled both infiltration attempts. In Spinwam, forces eliminated 15 militants, including four suicide attackers, while in Gaki, 10 more fighters were killed during intense clashes.
After the operations concluded, security personnel seized a large cache of weapons and explosives from the militants’ hideouts, preventing what officials described as a “major cross-border terror plot.”
Fallen Soldiers Honoured
The five Pakistani soldiers who lost their lives in the operation were identified as:
-
Havildar Manzoor Hussain (35)
-
Sepoy Nauman Ilyas Kayani (23)
-
Sepoy Muhammad Adil (24)
-
Sepoy Shahjahan (25)
-
Sepoy Ali Asghar (25)
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the bravery and sacrifice of the troops in preventing terrorist infiltration, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and lauded the army’s continued efforts to secure Pakistan’s borders.
Background
The latest confrontation highlights the escalating tension along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where cross-border incursions by TTP militants have increased in recent months. Pakistan has repeatedly accused Afghanistan’s Taliban administration of failing to curb militant groups operating from its territory.
The ISPR reaffirmed that the Pakistani military remains committed to eliminating terrorism “at all costs.”
