Police said the accident took place around 6 am on the National Highway 24 in Uchauliya village, nearly 80 km from the district headquarters.
According to police, the driver of the van and the helper are among the nine people killed.
Meanwhile, the injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital in Shahjahanpur. Police have attributed over speeding to be a possible reason for the accident.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the deaths in the accident and directed the officials concerned to initiate steps for ensuring all possible help and proper treatment to the injured.
