In Kota, incidents of crocodiles appearing after heavy rains have been reported. The Forest Department team successfully rescued two crocodiles in a single day, safely releasing them into a dam. These crocodiles had wandered into residential areas, measuring around 7 to 10 feet in length.
Forest officer Virendra Singh reported that the first incident occurred in the Kalatalab area. Around 7 AM on Sunday, people on their morning walk spotted a massive crocodile on the road. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a 7-foot-long crocodile resting against the wall of the pond. Fortunately, since it was early morning, there were not many people around. After about 20 minutes of effort, the team managed to capture the crocodile.
The second incident took place in the Balita Road area. Around 4 PM, a 10-foot-long crocodile was spotted near Bapu Basti in a canal. Upon receiving the information, the team rushed to the site. The crocodile was found sitting in wet mud near a house wall. The team carefully captured it within 15 minutes. Both crocodiles were released into the Devli Nursery.
Virendra Singh explained that during the rainy season, water from canals flows into the drains, leading crocodiles to reach empty plots. As the water in the plots dries up, the crocodiles become visible. The crocodile from the Balita Road area likely came from the Chambal River. The rescue team included Mahavir Prasad, Brajraj Malav, Lalchand Sharma, and Brajmohan Mehta.
