Karnataka election: PM Modi to address rallies in Tumkur, Shivmogga and Gadag today

BJP Chief Amit Shah is also set to address several rallies on Saturday. He will also hold road shows. 

Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the party’s Mahila Morcha of Karnataka through the Namo App.

Besides, PM Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah, Union minsiters Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh will also be campagining in Karnataka.

Earlier on Friday, BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate B.S.Yedyurappa  released the BJP manifesto in Bengaluru . It promises farm loan waiver, setting up of a special cell in Chief Minister Office to look after farming issues, it also promises to strengthen the Lokayuktha  and women police force.

It promises to provide free sanitary napkins to BPL women and girl students at Re. 1 for other women under the new ‘Stree Suvidha Scheme’.

The party promised farm loans of up to Rs 1 lakh borrowed from nationalised and cooperative banks will be waived if voted to power.. It also said Rs 1.5 lakh crore will be spent on irrigation projects. It promised to bring back a separate agricultural Budget to place focus on the needs of farmers.

BJP will launch a scheme to provide direct income support of Rs 10,000 each to 2 million small and marginal dry land farmers and will provide free electricity for 10 hours everyday for pump sets for farmers.

Rs 5,000 crore Raitha Bandhu Market Intervention Fund would be launched to cushion farmers against the effects of price fluctuations.

Rs. 25,000 and 3 gm of gold will be provided to brides of families living Below Poverty Line at the time of marriage under the ‘Vivaha Mangala’ scheme.

Women of BPL families will get free smart phones under Mukhyamantri Smart Phone Yojana. 300 Mukhya Mantri Annapoorna Canteens would be opened to provide meals at affordable price. The “Gau Seva Ayog” will be revived. The manifesto also said a white paper will be brought out on the states financial health under the Congress rule..if BJP is voted to power. The BJP promised to restore the efficacy of the office of Lokayukta, the anti- corruption ombudsman and said there will be a 24×7 anti-corruption helpline.

The BJP will launch Mukhya Mantri Laptop Yojane under which every student enrolling in a college will be given a laptop free of cost.

Elections to the 224 member assembly will be held on 12 May and counting is scheduled for 15 May.
