YouTube Music Enhances Quick Picks with Multi-Song Radio Feature

YouTube Music is giving its Quick Picks shelf a major boost, introducing a new feature that allows users to create radio stations based on multiple songs. After months of limited testing — first spotted back in August — this upgrade is now rolling out widely on both Android and iOS platforms.

YouTube Music’s AI-Powered "Ask Music" Radio Generator Now Available on iPhone and iPad

A More Personalized Listening Experience

The revamped Quick Picks carousel now includes ‘plus’ buttons next to each song, allowing users to select multiple tracks before tapping the new “Start radio” option in the top-right corner. This kicks off a personalized station tailored to your selected songs, creating a more dynamic and user-driven radio experience.

If you change your mind, there’s also a ‘cancel’ (x) button, keeping the process flexible and user-friendly. Once the station begins, the “Playing from” label at the top of the Up Next queue will show which songs were used to generate the mix.

A Smart Evolution for Quick Picks

This enhancement further distinguishes Quick Picks from other YouTube Music features like Speed Dial and Top Songs, which serve more as shortcuts than customizable experiences. Combined with the previously introduced “Play All” option from 2023, this new feature brings deeper personalization to the forefront of the app’s user interface.

Many users have praised YouTube Music’s growing focus on user control and content discovery, and this multi-song radio tool is another step forward in that direction.

Suggested Improvements on the Horizon?

While the upgrade is a welcome change, some users are suggesting that tapping songs in Quick Picks shouldn’t immediately open the Now Playing screen. Instead, adopting the miniplayer-first behavior — as seen with Speed Dial and Top Songs — could streamline navigation and improve usability even further.

Still, today’s update marks a significant usability improvement, allowing users to move beyond single-song radios and build multi-track inspired playlists with just a few taps.
