According to social media experts, the Chinese company’s next flagship smartphone, Xiaomi 15 Pro, could come with a 5,400mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. The smartphone is expected to launch in the coming months as part of the Xiaomi 15 series. More information about the device has emerged in recent weeks, suggesting that the device will feature the same triple camera setup on the back as its predecessor, but the sensors may have been upgraded.
Xiaomi 15 Pro battery capacity, charging details leaked
According to a post by Digital Advisor Chat Station (translated from Chinese) on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the Xiaomi 15 Pro may have a negative silicon battery. It is speculated to have a 5,400mAh battery, which is a significant improvement over its predecessor’s 4,800mAh battery.
The smartphone also supports fast 100W wired charging. If true, it’s a step down from the previous model, which supported up to 120W charging. However, Xiaomi should improve the fast wireless charging of smartphones. According to experts, the phone may support 100W wireless fast charging, which is twice the speed of the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
The source also claims that Xiaomi is also testing a 120W wired fast charging solution, but was unable to solve the thermal issue related to the “temperature rise problem.”
Specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Pro (rumor)
According to the report, Xiaomi will have “exclusive first launch rights” for the 4th generation Snapdragon 8 chipset, which is expected to launch later this year. Therefore, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to be equipped with this next processor. According to reports, the optical fingerprint scanner installed in the previous model will also be omitted and the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor will be installed in the display.
Tipster Digital Chat Station points out that the Xiaomi 15 Pro may feature a 2K resolution micro-curved display, which may be different from the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Coming to the optics, the phone is speculated to feature a triple camera setup at the back that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope lens. It is worth noting that the latter was intended for the “Ultra” variant of the Xiaomi 14 series, but is now rumored to also come for the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
