Weather Delight in Bengal Due to Rainfall

Kolkata, June 22 (Udaipur Kiran): The weather in Kolkata and other parts of the state has turned pleasant due to continuous light rainfall over the past two days. According to a statement from the Regional Headquarters of the Meteorological Department in Alipore, the minimum temperature in Kolkata was recorded at 27.8 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.5 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal.

Over the last 24 hours, Kolkata received 1.7 millimeters of rainfall. Apart from Kolkata, other areas in the state including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Midnapore, Purulia, and Bankura, have experienced temperatures ranging between 27 to 33 degrees Celsius. Intermittent rain throughout the day is expected to provide further relief from the heat.

In North Bengal, light rain is also anticipated in Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong.
