Jaipur, March 20 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Village Development Officer in Dungarpur while accepting a bribe of ₹4,000.

According to officials, the accused, Ramesh Chandra Suwalka, posted as Gram Vikas Adhikari in Gram Panchayat Mandli under Simalwara tehsil, was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by the ACB Dungarpur unit.
The action was taken following a complaint that the officer had demanded ₹8,000 as bribe for issuing land pattas for two houses belonging to the complainant and his brother. After receiving ₹4,000, the officer issued the patta for one house but allegedly demanded the remaining ₹4,000 for issuing the second patta.
The complaint was verified on March 18, during which the accused agreed to accept ₹4,000 from the co-complainant. Acting on this, the ACB team carried out a trap under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Rameshwar Singh.
The operation was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ratan Singh Rajpurohit of ACB Dungarpur, who, along with his team, caught the आरोपी while accepting the bribe amount.
Further questioning of the accused is underway. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and initiated further investigation.
