ACB banswara Unit Arrests Official in Corruption Case
Udaipur, January 30 – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Banswara unit has arrested Village Development Officer (VDO) Prabhulal Pargi while accepting a ₹16,000 bribe. The officer was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by the ACB.

Demand for ₹25,000 Bribe Exposed
ACB Director General Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda stated that a complaint was received against VDO Prabhulal Pargi. The complainant’s father worked as a security guard at Atal Seva Kendra, Bhapor, on a contract basis, but had not received his salary for five months.
- When the complainant approached the VDO to process the pending salary bill, Pargi demanded ₹25,000 as a bribe.
- On January 20, ACB verified the complaint, during which the accused agreed to accept ₹20,000.
- During the verification process, Pargi had already accepted ₹4,000 as part of the bribe.
Trapped and Arrested
Following the successful verification, ACB set up a trap operation led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rishikesh Meena. During the operation, Pargi was caught red-handed while accepting the remaining ₹16,000.
Further Investigation Underway
The accused has been booked under the prevention of corruption act, and further investigations are in progress. ACB officials have assured a thorough probe into the matter, reaffirming their commitment to eradicating corruption in the state.
