The oath-taking ceremony will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar formally invited Vijay to form the government after he submitted the letter proving majority in the 234-member assembly.

Sources indicate that in the first phase of cabinet formation, Vijay is expected to be sworn in alongside nine ministers. A potential list of ministers and departments has emerged ahead of the ceremony.

Senior leader K.A. Sengottaiyan is anticipated to handle the Public Works Department (PWD), while N. Anand may be given the Municipal Administration portfolio. C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar is likely to take charge of the Electricity Department.
