Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said urbanisation is on rise and good drainage system, proper water supply and rain water harvesting are crucial for urban transformation and to build smart cities.
He underlined the importance of development of north east states and said because of frontier areas their development is equally important.
He also said problems of urban infrastructures in North East states has to be solved collectively and said internal resources has to be increased by states too for developmental works.
The Vice president also interacted with students and faculty at North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology at Nirjuli near Itanagar.
