Vande Bharat Train to Vaishno Devi Gets New Stop at Reasi from October 29 — Check Updated Timings and Schedule

Jammu, October 26 (Udaipur Kiran): The Indian Railways has announced a change in the timing and stoppage of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, adding a new halt at Reasi station in both directions from October 29, 2025.

Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains

The decision was taken by the Northern Railway in view of the increasing passenger demand from the Reasi district, which lies close to the famous Vaishno Devi temple and the world’s highest railway bridge — the Chenab Bridge. Until now, the train stopped only at Banihal station along its route.

The Vande Bharat Express (Train Nos. 26401/26402) covers a distance of 191 kilometers between Katra and Srinagar in approximately 2 hours and 58 minutes. The train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025, and is operated by the Northern Railway.

Updated Timings and Stoppages

  • Train No. 26401 (Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express)

    • Departure: 8:10 AM from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra

    • Arrival: 11:08 AM at Srinagar

Railway officials stated that the adjustment aims to improve passenger convenience and promote regional tourism, particularly given Reasi’s proximity to major pilgrimage and tourist attractions.
