Jammu, October 26 (Udaipur Kiran): The Indian Railways has announced a change in the timing and stoppage of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, adding a new halt at Reasi station in both directions from October 29, 2025.

The decision was taken by the Northern Railway in view of the increasing passenger demand from the Reasi district, which lies close to the famous Vaishno Devi temple and the world’s highest railway bridge — the Chenab Bridge. Until now, the train stopped only at Banihal station along its route.
The Vande Bharat Express (Train Nos. 26401/26402) covers a distance of 191 kilometers between Katra and Srinagar in approximately 2 hours and 58 minutes. The train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025, and is operated by the Northern Railway.
