Mumbai, May 11: Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela is set to reprise her role as Poonam Mishra in the new season of the web series ‘Inspector Avinash.’ In a recent discussion, she shared insights about her character and acting approach.
Rautela noted that her public image has often been associated with glamour, but projects like ‘Inspector Avinash’ require more than just visual perfection; they demand genuine emotional honesty.
She explained that to evolve as an artist, it is essential to let go of ‘performance vanity’—the obsession with looking perfect. “People often expect perfection from me in every frame, every expression, and every moment because of my glamorous image. However, projects like ‘Inspector Avinash’ require emotional honesty over visual perfection,” she stated.
The actress emphasized the importance of being present in her role, highlighting that people facing difficult situations in real life do not focus on how they appear; they are simply reacting, struggling with circumstances, and feeling emotions. “Understanding this truth was crucial for me as an actor,” she added.
Rautela also mentioned that conveying emotions through restrained acting—using fewer words and calm expressions—can be more challenging. “Silence, stillness, and controlled emotions require a different kind of confidence. Sometimes, showing the truth with less can be harder than being overly dramatic,” she explained.
She described the experience as liberating, allowing her to express her emotions without the pressure of maintaining her image.
‘Inspector Avinash’ first premiered in 2023, featuring Randeep Hooda in the lead role. The series is based on the life of UP’s supercop Avinash Mishra and showcases the story of crime prevention in the state. On the work front, Urvashi Rautela was last seen in the film ‘Daku Maharaj.’
