Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), under the Ministry of Power, has launched the UrjaVEER (Urja Volunteers Leading Energy Efficiency Revolution) movement in Andhra Pradesh, spearheaded by Union Power Minister Shri Manohar Lal. This initiative empowers grassroots-level citizens, such as self-help groups, to promote energy-efficient appliances through EESLmart.in, fostering sustainability and creating income opportunities.
Launched in Vijayawada, the movement aligns with G20 and COP28 energy goals, emphasizing reduced energy consumption and lower greenhouse emissions. EESL plans to expand the initiative to states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana.
EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor highlighted, “UrjaVEER empowers communities, creating a network of advocates for energy efficiency and sustainability, ensuring a greener future for all.”
