Udaipur, August 13, 2026: The reservation lottery for the posts of mayor and chairpersons in Udaipur Municipal Corporation and municipalities in the district was conducted in Jaipur on Thursday ahead of the upcoming civic elections.
The post of mayor of Udaipur Municipal Corporation has been kept Unreserved Open. The chairperson posts of Bhinder Municipality and Salumber Municipal Council will also remain unreserved open.
Reservation for Municipalities in Udaipur District
The newly formed Mavli Municipality has been reserved for ST Open, while Vallabhnagar Municipality has been reserved for ST Women.
The chairperson post of Kanod Municipality has been reserved for OBC Open, while the post of Fatehnagar-Sanwar Municipality has been reserved for Unreserved Women.
An Unreserved Open seat means candidates from any category can contest the election. Both men and women can stake their claim for such a seat.
Five Municipalities in the District
Apart from one Municipal Corporation, Udaipur district has Bhinder, Kanod and Fatehnagar-Sanwar municipalities. Mavli and Vallabhnagar became new municipalities after being promoted from gram panchayats.
