Udaipur Hotel Operator Booked for Allegedly Sheltering Three Thai Women Without Valid Documents
Udaipur, October 30, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has registered a case against the operator of Hotel City Pride in Udaipur for allegedly accommodating three Thai women despite their visa and passport validity having expired.
The case was registered at Govardhan Vilas Police Station against hotel operator Shantanu Soni, son of Rajesh Soni, who is currently residing in Chungi Naka, Sector 11, Udaipur. The complaint alleges that the three women, originally from Thailand, were staying in the city without valid travel documents.

One Woman Had Previously Been Deported from India
According to police records, one of the three women had previously been deported from India. However, she allegedly re-entered the country illegally through the Nepal border and later reached Udaipur.
Around a week ago, a joint team of Udaipur Police and the CID detained the three Thai women from the hotel.
During an inspection, police examined the hotel’s visitor register and found that there were no entries regarding the stay of the foreign nationals. The hotel operator allegedly concealed information about their stay and did not inform the administration.
Women Allegedly Made to Work at Hotel Spa
The investigation also revealed that the hotel operator allegedly employed the foreign women for spa-related work at the hotel. Police also received information about their possible involvement in suspicious activities.
Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Vikram Singh said that the illegal stay of foreign nationals without valid documents could pose a serious concern for national security. He added that the possibility of their involvement in anti-national activities could not be ruled out.
Case Registered Under Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025
The CID has registered a case against the hotel operator under Sections 7(2) and 29 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. Further investigation and legal proceedings have been initiated.
The allegations against the hotel operator are subject to investigation.
