Udaipur Health Official Arrested for Taking Bribe of Rs. 1.25 Lakh

Udaipur : In a major operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Udaipur arrested Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Qazi, a senior health official and the PCPNDT (Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques) Authority. He was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1.25 lakh. The arrest was made following a complaint from a citizen.

Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, Director General of ACB, shared that the complaint involved Dr. Qazi demanding Rs. 1.50 lakh in bribes for not sealing a sonography machine, returning the sonography register, and ensuring no further harassment.

Under the supervision of DIG Rajendra Prasad Goyal and led by Additional SP Himmat Singh Charan, the ACB team in Rajsamand verified the complaint and conducted a trap operation. Inspector Mansharam and his team successfully caught Dr. Qazi in Udaipur while he was taking the bribe.

Further investigations and interrogations are being conducted under the direction of ADG Smita Srivastava. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and will proceed with further inquiries.
