Udaipur : Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) demolished illegal shops built on agricultural land near the Subcity intersection. The shops were built without the required land conversion and change of land use.
UDA Chairman and Divisional Commissioner Rajendra Bhatt and District Collector Arvind Poswal directed the action. UDA Secretary Rajesh Joshi oversaw the demolition, which was led by Land Acquisition Officer Mansukh Damor and Tehsildar Ranjit Singh Vithu.
Joshi said that people had built the shops without the required land conversion and change of land use. UDA had repeatedly asked them to stop the construction, but they did not comply.
On the instructions of the UDA Chairman, the officials took legal action under Section 32 of the Udaipur Development Authority Act, 2023, and ordered the removal of the illegal construction. The team reached the spot and asked the shopkeepers to stop the construction, but they continued to build. The team demolished the construction in the afternoon.
Police from the Hiran Magri police station, as well as land records inspectors Bharat Hathaya, Vijay Nayak, Rajesh Mehta, and Home Guard personnel, were present during the action.
