Two Surat Textile Merchants Killed in Udaipur-Ahmedabad Highway Accident

Udaipur : A horrific accident on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway claimed the lives of two brothers from Surat, Gujarat, on Tuesday afternoon. The tragedy unfolded near the old police station in the Parsad police station area of Salumbar district.

According to local police reports, an out-of-control trailer truck swerved across the highway, slamming head-on into a car carrying the two brothers. The force of the impact was devastating. The car crumpled under the weight of the trailer, leaving it mangled beyond recognition. One of the brothers sustained critical injuries and became trapped inside the wreckage. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and managed to extricate him with difficulty.

Sadly, both brothers succumbed to their injuries. They have been identified as Mayur Jain (35) and Tejas Jain (33), sons of Fathelal Jain and residents of Surat. The brothers were reportedly textile merchants who were visiting their in-laws in Udaipur. Their two-day trip was tragically cut short when the accident occurred as they were returning to Surat.

The trailer driver, responsible for the deadly collision, fled the scene after the accident. Police have seized the trailer and are actively searching for the driver. Parsad police station in-charge Umesh Sanadhya confirmed the incident and the ongoing investigation.

The bodies of the deceased brothers were transported to MB Hospital for post-mortem examination. Family members, including relatives residing in Udaipur, arrived at the mortuary upon receiving the devastating news.
