Ayodhya, June 22: The saint community in Ayodhya has expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) regarding alleged irregularities linked to the Ram Temple. They believe that the inquiry is being conducted impartially and that strict action will be taken against those found guilty once the report is released. Furthermore, they have made it clear that they will not accept the complete government takeover of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust under any circumstances.
Arya saint Varun Das Ji Maharaj stated that the SIT’s report, expected to be submitted to relevant authorities in Lucknow within a week, will lead to necessary actions against individuals named in the investigation. He mentioned that there are discussions about appointing a retired IAS officer as the CEO to manage the temple, but he advised caution regarding this proposal. Varun Das Ji Maharaj emphasized that the presence of some shortcomings in the management system does not imply that the entire system is flawed.
He reiterated that the Ram Temple is a center of faith for millions of Hindus and should not be fully government-controlled. The government is already managing security and law enforcement matters, with participation from district administration and other government representatives in the trust. Therefore, while there is necessary intervention from both the central and state governments, handing over complete control of the trust to the government would not be appropriate. He warned that if there is an attempt to fully government-control the trust, the saints and the broader Hindu community in Ayodhya will not accept it. He expressed confidence that those attempting to tarnish the image of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi will not escape accountability, as the government is functioning effectively under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.
Meanwhile, Mahant Dr. Deveshacharya Ji Maharaj of Hanumangarhi, Ayodhya, also expressed trust in the SIT investigation, stating that the process is in its final stages and results may be announced in the coming days. He assured that the SIT is conducting the investigation with utmost seriousness, and any individual found guilty after the report reaches the Chief Minister will face punitive action. He urged the Hindu community to maintain patience and restraint.
Mahant Dr. Deveshacharya Ji Maharaj added that the investigation report will soon be made public, clarifying the truth. Those found guilty will be punished, and if any individual or group is found guilty of deliberately spreading rumors, appropriate legal action will also be taken against them.
