According to the police, the incident occurred in front of a Mahindra showroom on the highway. The truck hit the students’ bike from behind with such force that it became lodged beneath the vehicle. Shockingly, the driver did not stop and dragged the bike for nearly half a kilometre before fleeing the scene, abandoning the truck.

Bhavya and Tilakraj were students at Geetanjali Engineering College and residents of Nathdwara. Eyewitnesses say the accident was so gruesome that the bodies were severely mutilated, sending shockwaves across the area and drawing a large crowd to the site.

Police quickly arrived and transported the bodies to the mortuary, informing the grieving families. The atmosphere was one of heartbreak and disbelief, especially as it emerged that Tilakraj was the only child of his parents. Both families were inconsolable upon identifying the bodies. Bhavya’s father Puneet Paliwal and Tilakraj’s father Harnath Singh were seen overcome with grief, unable to hold back their tears.

Authorities are currently searching for the absconding truck driver and have registered a case under relevant sections of the law. Meanwhile, the community mourns the loss of two young lives full of potential, cut short in a moment of reckless driving.
