Tragic Accident in Satara Claims Lives of Four Young Men

Satara, August 11: A devastating road accident occurred in Satara district of Maharashtra. Late on Monday night, a speeding car collided violently with a truck on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway near the Shirwal area. Tragically, four young men lost their lives at the scene, while two others sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

According to reports, six young men from the Maval taluka, including Vedant Arjun Waringe (19), Sonaling Dhirendra Thakur (19), Aditya Balasaheb Garud (19), and Nikhil Baloo Raut (20), were traveling in a Nexon car when the incident occurred. The car crashed into an Ashok Leyland truck with such force that it was severely damaged.

The injured individuals, Dikshit Dayanand Pujari (20) and Mayur Hanumant Shinde (20), are also from the Kamshat area. The impact of the collision was so intense that the car was completely wrecked. Following the accident, a significant traffic jam formed on the highway. The Shirwal police arrived promptly at the scene, cleared the wreckage, and restored normal traffic flow. The injured were rushed to the hospital, and the deceased were sent for post-mortem. The Shirwal police have registered a case and are investigating the exact cause of the accident.

Earlier, on July 15, a similar tragic incident in Ratnagiri district resulted in the deaths of three people, including two women, when a car collided with a dumper on the Mumbai-Goa Highway.
