Udaipur, February 16, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) – Following the declaration of JEE Main Session-1 results by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday, the focus of lakhs of students and parents has now shifted to counselling and admissions into the country’s leading engineering institutions.
This year, 13,04,653 candidates appeared for the examination, and 12 students achieved a perfect 100 percentile. For candidates securing strong scores, admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) remains one of the most sought-after goals.

National Institute of Technology Silchar – Ranked seventh in NIRF 2025, it is a major educational hub in the North-East region.
National Institute of Technology Patna – A strong choice for students aspiring to build careers in civil engineering.
National Institute of Technology Delhi – Located in the national capital, it has rapidly emerged as a premium engineering destination.

Strict Monitoring and Transparency
NTA implemented advanced measures to maintain transparency during the examination. The use of 5G jammers, AI-based video analytics and Aadhaar-based e-KYC systems ensured tight security. Results of 68 candidates have been withheld for using unfair means.
Female Topper
Although no girl featured among the 12 candidates with a perfect 100 percentile, Ashi Grewal from Haryana topped among female candidates with an outstanding 99.9969766 percentile score.
The final All India Rank (AIR) will be prepared after both sessions of JEE Main (January and April), based on the best score secured by candidates. Admission to these top NITs will be conducted accordingly through the centralised counselling process.
