Jaipur, October 7 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Tonk Unit, arrested Vikram Kumawat, a Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) contractual employee posted at Panchayat Samiti Aligarh, District Tonk, for accepting a ₹15,000 bribe.
Acting under the directions of ACB Headquarters, Jaipur, the Tonk team carried out a trap operation on October 7, 2025, and caught the accused red-handed while taking the bribe.
According to Additional Director General of Police, ACB, Smt. Smita Srivastava, the complaint alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of ₹18,000 from the complainant for entering measurements in the measurement book (MB) related to works sanctioned under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the year 2022–23, including farm bunding, pond embankment, horticulture, and animal shelter construction.
The complainant stated that although some work was completed and muster rolls were filled between September 16 and 30, 2025, the accused was demanding bribe money to process the remaining official documentation. During verification on October 3, 2025, the accused reiterated the demand and agreed to reduce the amount to ₹15,000 after negotiation.
Under the supervision of DIG Police Mahaveer Singh Ranawat, Ajmer Range, and led by TLO Zhabar Mal, Additional SP, ACB Tonk, the trap was executed successfully. The accused accepted ₹15,000, of which he returned ₹500 to the complainant, citing expenses, before being caught red-handed by the ACB team.
The accused has been taken into custody, and further interrogation and investigation are underway. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and additional inquiries will follow.
