New Delhi: The IPL frenzy reached its peak again on Tuesday as young Punjab Kings batsmen Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh almost pulled off a miraculous steal in a nail-biting thriller in the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Bowling in the final over, veteran Jaydev Unadkat managed a 29-run defense but the pacer was stopped by Ashutosh (33*) and Shashank (46*) and the Sunrisers seemed set for a comeback. Jaws of Victory

However, the Punjab team fought back but fell behind by two runs and the Sunrisers could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

The crowd at the MYSIC Stadium was mesmerized by his superb fielding as he missed three runs in the final over and Unadkat scored three wides and three sixes.

Unadkat bowled his costliest 20 overs to date while defending his total, but the lucky Sunrisers had enough on the field to claim victory.

Taking 29 minutes from the last over, Onadkat opened with a slow ball that Ashutosh played deep into middle. Nitish Reddy jumped to the fence to catch the ball but instead hurled it over the boundary rope for his maximum.

Unadkat then bowled two consecutive wides to reduce the equation to 21 off 5 balls.

Then, on the second ball in regulation, Abdul Samad dropped another shot, this time from off, and the ball fell over the ropes and reached another maximum.

In the third ball of the over, Ashutosh pulled the ball to deep mid-wicket and then made a few runs to take the score to 13 in three balls.

After the fourth ball from Unadkat, a few runs came and then a ball which was finished by Uadkat.
