Three Arrested in Udaipur Stabbing Case Near Government Press, Tried to Flee After Changing Appearance

Udaipur | May 19, 2025 — The Surajpol police have arrested three accused in connection with a violent stabbing incident that occurred near the Government Press area under the Surajpol Police Circle on May 18. The swift police action followed the filing of an FIR by the victim, who narrowly escaped a life-threatening assault allegedly carried out by a group of assailants.

Victim Attacked with Pipe and Knife, FIR Registered

According to the police report, Sameer Ali, a resident of Qaumi Ekta Nagar, Mallatalai, Udaipur, stated that he had gone to visit a friend in Khanjipir on the evening of May 18. While at the location, he was attacked by Faizan alias Kalu, Sahil alias Chhota, and Ayaan alias Farata, who were accompanied by several unidentified associates. The accused allegedly struck Sameer on the head with an iron pipe and attempted to stab him with a knife with the intent to kill.

Based on the complaint, an FIR (Case No. 174/2025) was filed under Sections 189(2), 109(2), 126(2), and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, and an immediate investigation was launched.

Police Launch Swift Action Under Senior Supervision

Taking the gravity of the incident seriously, Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal issued directives for rapid action and immediate arrests. Under the supervision of Additional SP Umesh Ojha and Circle Officer Chhagan Purohit, a special team led by Station Officer Ratan Singh of Surajpol Police Station was formed.

The team examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area and conducted raids at known hideouts. With the aid of technical surveillance and local intelligence, the police successfully arrested the three primary suspects:

  1. Faizan Ahmed alias Kalu, son of Arif Ahmed, age 19, resident of Sajjangarh, Manohar Lohia Colony, Kachchi Basti, Ambamata, Udaipur

  2. Sahil Khan alias Chhota, son of Yusuf Khan, age 19, resident of the same locality

  3. Owais Raza alias Ayaan Farata, son of Arif Hussain, age 20, resident of Sajjangarh, Kachchi Basti, Ambamata, Udaipur

Attempted to Evade Arrest by Altering Appearance

Following the attack, the trio attempted to evade police capture by cutting their hair to change their appearance and planning to escape the city via train. However, their plan was foiled by the police team’s timely intervention.
