Theatre operators asked to upkeep security arrangements

Udaipur : Amidst the uproar and vehement protest against the release of Padmavati, theatre operators and managers have been imparted instructions to make proper arrangements during the screening of the movie after release. Divisional commissioner Bhavani Singh Detha has instructed collectors at Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh asking them to take all necessary measures to maintain the law and order situation in their respective areas. In turn the collectors have asked the cinema operators to stay alert and prevent anything that could lead to breach of order.

Meanwhile, supporters of the Bajrang  Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad inspected various cinema theatres in Udaipur city on thursday to check whether any poster related to the movie is on display, there were none. Theatre managers also said that untill the row comes to a hault, they would not screen the movie at their places to avoid any untoward incident. On thursday, students of a private Rajput college marched through the streets and raised slogans against the movie makers. At Gogunda town, delegates from the Rajput community and villagers joined in a dharna and gave a memorandum to the Tehsildar calling for a ban on the movie. Similar protest also took place at Kanore where the Karni Sena volunteers took out a vehicle rally and burnt the effigies of the film crew.
