Mumbai, September 16 (Patrika English News). Shares of Tata Power Company rose over 2% on Monday after its renewable energy arm, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), signed an agreement with Suzlon Group for 838 MW of wind energy projects.

The stock opened at ₹387.90 on the BSE and touched a high of ₹399.90 before settling at ₹396.50, up by ₹8.60 or 2.22% from the previous close. Around 4.25 lakh shares changed hands during the session. The company’s market capitalisation currently stands at ₹1.26 lakh crore.
The contract involves Suzlon supplying wind turbine generators for TPREL’s upcoming projects across multiple states. These projects, scheduled for phased completion, will strengthen TPREL’s leadership in India’s renewable energy transition, aligned with the national goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
TPREL already has a wind energy portfolio of over 3.9 GW, with 1 GW operational and the rest under development in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. This marks the third major collaboration between Tata Power’s renewable arm and Suzlon in more than a decade.
The move also supports Tata Power’s long-term target of achieving 100% clean energy by 2045. The company currently has a total generation capacity of 15.7 GW, including 6.9 GW from renewable sources.
