Beijing, August 10: As the countdown begins for the 33rd informal APEC leaders’ summit, there has been a significant increase in the number of passengers traveling to and from Shenzhen ports in China. According to data from the General Inspection Station of Shenzhen, over 5 million foreign travelers have entered and exited the port as of August 4, achieving this milestone 58 days earlier than in 2025.
The expansion of China’s visa-free policy has contributed to the continuous rise in passenger numbers at various Shenzhen ports. A total of 1.269 million foreign travelers have entered China under this visa-free policy, accounting for 50.9 percent of all foreign arrivals, which is a 47.5 percent increase compared to last year.
By the evening of August 9, foreign nationals from APEC economies had made 3.501 million entries and exits at Shenzhen port, representing 67.3 percent of all foreign travelers, marking a 23.76 percent increase from the previous year.
