Mumbai, February 13: Renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently shared the poster of his iconic film ‘Vidhaata,’ which was released in 1982. This film marked the first collaboration of legendary actors Shammi Kapoor and Dilip Kumar on screen. Ghai took to Instagram to express his gratitude, stating, “Thank you, Anirudh, for sending a copy of the original poster. This was my first film featuring the great Dilip Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapure, and my mischievous star Sanjay Dutt.”
He further reminisced, “This was Sanjay Dutt’s second film, which turned out to be a blockbuster in 1982. There are so many stories and memories… I truly feel that I should write a book about all of this.”
Directed by Ghai and released under the banner of Gulshan Rai’s Trimurti Films, ‘Vidhaata’ made a significant impact at the box office and in the hearts of audiences, primarily due to the historic pairing of Dilip Kumar and Shammi Kapoor. The film also marked a successful entry for Sanjay Dutt in his acting career.
