Hyderabad, August 18: Reactions from leaders across the country are pouring in following the Jharkhand government’s decision to cancel the JSSC-CGL examination and all exams conducted by TDP. Telangana BJP and TJ leaders have expressed differing opinions on the matter.
Telangana BJP state president N. Ramchandra Rao hailed the decision as a victory for students. He stated, “This is a win for the students of Jharkhand. The government had to bow down to the strength of the students. The movement in Jharkhand showcases the true power of students. This is a significant success for them.”
During his remarks, he also criticized the Congress party and the India Block, saying, “It is unfortunate that neither the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, nor any leader from the India Block met the students or offered their support.”
On the other hand, M. Kodandaram, head of the Telangana Jana Samiti and MLC, praised the government’s decision, noting, “The Jharkhand government has made a significant decision after a four-hour cabinet meeting. After extensive discussions, the cabinet has finally canceled the examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.”
He further mentioned that the government has also taken steps to improve the functioning of the commission. Additionally, a decision was made to appoint an officer to review the commission’s operations and provide appropriate recommendations for improvement.
In response to allegations of paper leaks, the government has formed a committee to investigate. Kodandaram stated, “The government has also established a committee, chaired by a retired judge, to investigate the entire examination process, including the question paper and paper leak cases.”
However, a consensus between the students and the government remains elusive on one issue. Kodandaram noted, “The CID is also investigating the matter, but students want an independent inquiry. They believe that only the CBI can conduct an impartial investigation. This is where the government and students have not reached an agreement.”
