New Delhi – The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the list of tentative vacancies for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2025. A total of 14,582 posts will be filled across various Central Ministries, Departments, and Organisations under Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ categories. Among these, the highest number of vacancies—6,753—are for the post of CBDT Officer Superintendent.
Post-wise Vacancies at a Glance
The recruitment includes 1,306 posts for Inspector Central Excise, 771 for Tax Assistants, 353 for CBIC Inspectors, 180 for CAG Accountant/Junior Accountant, 389 for Income Tax Inspectors in CBDT, 94 for EPFO Assistant/ASO, 197 for IB Assistant/ASO, and 682 for Assistant Section Officers in DoPT CSS.
Additionally, 1,174 posts are open for Auditor in CGDA, 14 for Sub-Inspectors in NIA, 30 for Sub-Inspectors (Narcotics) in NCB, and 93 for Sub-Inspectors in CBI.
Category-wise Distribution
Out of the total 14,582 posts, 6,183 are for the Unreserved category, 2,167 for SC, 1,088 for ST, 3,721 for OBC, and 1,423 for EWS candidates.
CGL 2025 Application and Exam Process
Online applications for SSC CGL 2025 were accepted until 4th July. This exam recruits candidates for 48 departments and ministries under the Central Government.
CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern
Tier-1 will be a 1-hour Computer-Based Test (CBT) comprising 100 questions for 200 marks. It includes four sections with 25 questions of 50 marks each:

Stenographer Exam Admit Cards Released
SSC has issued the admit cards and exam city information for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Examination 2025. The exams are scheduled for 6th, 7th, and 8th August. Candidates can log in to the official SSC website to check their allotted exam city.
Additionally, the date for the Junior Hindi Translator (Paper-I) examination has been announced as 12th August.
Instructions related to scribes have also been published. Candidates who opted for ‘Own Scribe’ must complete the scribe registration and submit details on the SSC website by 11:59 PM on 2nd August.
