34th State-Level Agriculture Department Sports Competition Inaugurated
Udaipur, January 8, 2025: Sports competitions serve as a powerful source of inspiration and energy for continuous work in government functions, said Udaipur Lok Sabha MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the 34th State-Level Agricultural Department Sports Competition at the Rajasthan Agricultural College Sports Complex, Dr. Rawat emphasized the importance of engaging in sports. “Spending just four days a year on sports will recharge your energy and inspire you to work efficiently for the remaining 361 days,” he said.

The event, which brings together Agricultural Department officials and employees from various districts of Rajasthan, is expected to promote camaraderie among participants. The MP highlighted that the competition would not only encourage physical well-being but also foster better collaboration among colleagues.
Sports Essential for a Healthy Mind and Body
Pragya Kevalramani, the Divisional Commissioner, who also addressed the gathering, reiterated that physical fitness is integral to mental health. “Sports are necessary for maintaining balance in both body and mind,” she stated, underlining their importance in daily life.
Present at the event were Ramprakash, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, S.K. Verma, Joint Director of Agricultural Extension, Social Worker Pramod Samar, and various other dignitaries, along with departmental officers and staff.
11 Teams Competing Across Multiple Sports
According to Joint Director Verma, the four-day competition, which will continue until January 11, is seeing participation from 11 teams, including 10 agricultural blocks and 1 commissionerate from across the state. Each block has sent a maximum of 50 players to compete in various events.
Exciting Competitions and Sports on Display
The agricultural department’s sports competition will feature a range of events designed to test the skills and stamina of the participants. These include:
- Track Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m, and 4x400m relay
- Field Events: Shot put, long jump, high jump, discus throw
- Other Competitions: Table tennis, badminton, carom, chess, volleyball, kabaddi, tug of war, and traditional games like Kho-Kho, Rumal Jhaptas, and Jalebi Race for female players.
This year’s event promises to be a fun-filled celebration of fitness, teamwork, and friendly competition, providing an excellent platform for officials to engage in physical activity while also strengthening bonds among colleagues across the state.
