Udaipur Kiran reports that Indian Railways has arranged special halts at Melmaruvathur station for three pairs of trains to facilitate pilgrims traveling from Jodhpur and Bikaner to Tamil Nadu for the Irumudi and Thaipusam festivals.
Divisional Railway Manager Anurag Tripathi stated that the Thaipusam festival is celebrated annually between January and February. Considering the increased number of devotees visiting Tamil Nadu during this period, the decision was made to provide temporary stops for these trains at Melmaruvathur.
Bhagat Ki Kothi-Tiruchirappalli Train
Train number 20481 from Bhagat Ki Kothi (Jodhpur) to Tiruchirappalli will run from December 31, 2025, to January 28, 2026. It will halt at Melmaruvathur station at 11:04 AM and depart at 11:05 AM. The return train, number 20482 from Tiruchirappalli to Bhagat Ki Kothi, will operate from January 3 to January 31, 2026, stopping at Melmaruvathur at 11:24 AM and leaving at 11:25 AM.
Bikaner-Madurai Train Schedule
Train number 22632 from Bikaner to Madurai will run from January 4 to January 25, 2026, stopping at Melmaruvathur at 11:24 AM and departing at 11:25 AM. The return train 22631 from Madurai to Bikaner will operate from January 1 to January 29, 2026, arriving at Melmaruvathur at 5:49 PM and leaving at 5:50 PM.
Jodhpur-Mannargudi Train Timings
Train number 22673 from Jodhpur to Mannargudi will run from January 1 to January 29, 2026, halting at Melmaruvathur at 11:04 AM and departing at 11:05 AM. The return journey, train number 22674 from Mannargudi to Bikaner, will operate from January 5 to January 26, 2026, stopping at Melmaruvathur at 5:49 PM and leaving at 5:50 PM.
