New Delhi, August 11: SP MLA Dr. Ragini Sonkar has made serious allegations against the Yogi government and the BJP regarding the CJP protest, NEET candidates’ movement, and student demonstrations in Ranchi. She stated that when young people took to the streets to demand their rights, they were attacked, and those responsible for the attacks were later welcomed with garlands.
Regarding the dress code implemented at the ISKCON temple, Dr. Sonkar commented, “The temple has its own decision. ISKCON has its own community across the country. This is their decision. Attire does not reflect any foreign tradition; it is about personal comfort. There is no discussion of domestic or foreign traditions; everyone is free to choose what they like.”
The UP government has launched a pilot project aimed at increasing rural income and promoting natural farming, under which cow urine is being purchased from farmers at the rate of ₹10 per liter. In this context, the SP MLA criticized the government for compromising children’s futures, youth prospects, women’s safety, and farmers’ prosperity through paper leaks, recruitment scams, and reservation issues.
On the issue of denying maternity leave to women in government jobs for their fourth child, Ragini Sonkar mentioned that a discussion was planned in Parliament, but it has not yet occurred. She emphasized that every aspect of the matter should be discussed, and sudden decisions should not be made.
Regarding the singing of “Vande Mataram” at the Red Fort, the MLA stated, “We have all heard the opening line, and I can sing it too. We respect it, but if additional lines are being added, personally, I have no objection.”
For the upcoming 2027 UP elections, the SP has announced its first candidate. Ragini Sonkar stated, “The SP is not a party of any particular caste; it is a party that represents the entire society and aims to move forward with every community. Every caste will have opportunities based on the existing equations. There is nothing to appease anyone. This has made the BJP anxious, as they had previously favored certain castes, whose existence is gradually diminishing. All communities, whether Brahmins, Thakurs, Vaishyas, or others, are educated.”
She further asserted that in the coming times, people from every community will come forward strongly. The entire society is set to determine the future of UP together. The BJP has begun to operate under the guise of Hindutva. Anyone who speaks against them is attacked, while those who carry out the attacks are welcomed with flowers and garlands. Recently, when youth protested during the CJP protest, an attack was orchestrated against Abhijit Dipke. The person responsible for the attack was welcomed with garlands upon his release from jail.
She mentioned that Neha was part of the CJP protest because she was demanding rights for NEET students. Afterward, when she reached Jharkhand, ink was thrown at her. This behavior reflects their character, suggesting that if someone is Hindu, they must obtain a certificate from the BJP to be recognized as such. Our party’s national president has consistently addressed the student protests in Ranchi. When the CJP protest occurred, no opposition leader reached the stage. If discussions had taken place at the right time, the conclusions would have been different. They have not even attempted to establish a dialogue. There were discussions in Parliament today regarding the Ranchi protest.
