Udaipur : Facing much flak from the civil society for keeping mum on the Minister’s son’s thrashing case that had gone viral on social media, Banswara SP Kaluram Rawat has asked the concerning police officer to submit a factual report on the incident. Acting on the letter, SHO Shaitan Singh Nathawat of Kotwali police station summoned both the parties who were queried on Tuesday evening. State minister for Panchayati Raj DhanSingh Rawat’s son Rajveer aka Raja had reportedly thrashed a youth on June 1 after the latter failed to give side to his jeep that was behind, at the Maharana Pratap circle.
The hooliganism was caught by the close circuit cameras installed at the circle and the video footage went viral recently. Though there was no complaint made either by the victim Prerak Upadhaya or his family, however, the incident drew much attention and criticism from the citizens. PCC chief Sachin Pilot too condemned the incident and warned of a protest if police didnt take proper action against the minister’s son. Facing pressure from the media and public, SP Kaluram Rawat called for an enquiry.
” I asked the SHO to call both parties at the police station and reaffirm if the victim really wanted to give a complaint. The officer spoke to both the parties. Prerak and his family reinstated that Rajveer had apologised for his misconduct and that they have forgiven him. Even courts prefer amicable settlement of disputes and after many years of trials, parties reconcile. In this case, both of them, having known each other for a long time, have reconciled and there is nothing wrong in it” Rawat told Udaipur Kiran.
