Kolkata : South Eastern Railway has registered a 13.31 per cent growth by loading 160.75 million tonnes of freight in the first ten months – April to January of the current financial year (2021-22), as against 141.87 mt in the corresponding period of last year.
Official sources said there was also an increase of 15.46 OPC in originating freight revenue in comparison to the first ten months of the last fiscal. During April to January of the mentioned period ( 21-22), the SER generated Rs 13,392.23 crore against Rs11,599.13 crore in the same period of the previous year.
The main commodities of freight were Iron ore, coal, pig iron and finished steel, cement, fertilizer, petroleum products etc. SER has loaded 89.16 mt during this period, which was 4.15 pc more then the corresponding period of previous fiscal, the sources added.
